The Maze Runner by James Dashner


This month, I will be reviewing The Maze Runner by James Dashner. The Maze Runner is about a boy named Thomas who wakes up one day in the Glade and he doesn't remember anything except for his name. The Glade is surrounded by the Maze. Each night, the doors to the Maze close and the Maze changes. The boys in the Glade have been trying to escape through the Maze for over two years and nobody has survived a night in the Maze. When Thomas shows up, everything changes.

I'll admit it, the main reason that I read this book was because I heard that my husband (Dylan O'Brien) is going to be in the movie, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the book. I love this book and I'm so glad that I decided to read it and I can't wait to read The Scorch Trials. I couldn't put the book down because it was so mysterious and intriguing. The Maze Runner is one of my favorite books because it has so much action and mystery. You can see the movie in theaters on September 19th.

This month, I will be reviewing Divergent by Veronica Roth. Divergent is a great story about a girl named Beatrice (Tris) Prior living in a dystopian Chicago. The society is separated into five factions: Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Once a year, all sixteen-year-olds select which faction they want to spend the rest of their lives in. I feel like Tris is such a strong character because she can't fit into one category and she doesn't accept help from many people because she is independent, which is why she is one of my favorite characters. Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher

This month, I will be reviewing Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. In this book, Clay Jensen finds a shoebox containing 7 cassette tapes, each with a story on both sides except for the seventh tape. In the tapes, Hannah Baker explains to 12 people (no that was not a typo I really did mean 12) why she decided to commit suicide. These tapes take Clay, and the reader, on an emotional roller coaster through 13 different stories that all answer the same question; Why did Hannah Baker kill herself? First off, let me start by saying if you don't think you'll like it because it sounds depressing, at least give it a try because it was an amazing book. People always judge books before they even try to read them. Anyway, onto my review. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

This month, I will be reviewing The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. The Fault in our Stars is  one of John Green’s many wonderful books. It is about a girl with cancer named Hazel Grace Lancaster. Hazel meets a boy named Augustus at a cancer support group and they fall in love. The Fault In Our Stars is one of my favorite books because it has humor and romance, but it’s not a romantic comedy. It is such an amazing book and I'm not exaggerating when I say I've read it about  thirty times. I have tried to get all of my friends to read it and have been quite successful. One of my friends said she doesn't want to read it because it's a sad book and she doesn't like sad books. The story itself isn't necessarily sad because it's funny in most parts.
